A bountiful spring

Summer begins today, ending what has been a most fruitful spring for me.  The “fruit” in this case is a bounty of wonderful photographs of birds and other creatures.

On my morning walks the past several weeks I have photographed a few birds for the first time, including barred owls, red-winged blackbirds, and a wood duck.  I photographed some creatures I have not seen in years, including a red fox and a few beavers.  And I made unique pics of some of my old standbys like great blue herons and great egrets.

All the photographs in this collection were made along or near the C&O Canal.  If you follow me on Instagram and/or Facebook I’m sure you will recognize many.
