Recently I was walking on the C&O Canal towpath when I was surprised to see a large lump of fur in the canal. It turned out to be a beaver. I thought it would swim to the opposite shore and disappear but instead it slowly swam upstream, paralleling my path. When it got out and crossed the towpath headed home to the Potomac River I was struck by the contrast of the grace of its swimming versus the waddle of its walk.
I have shared some of the accompanying bird and critter photographs on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter but wanted to add them here as well.
Amazing Darr. Thank u for sharing these photos in such a beautiful format.
